title
parker

Parker is a handsome Parson Russell terrier puppy from Lindy Donato of Jacklands Queensland.

18th September 2011.

With all my dogs I start off with Ian Dunbar's "Before You Get Your Puppy" and "After You Get Your Puppy" . As you can see with the linking these are freely available now on line for those who wish to school their youngsters

Parker to date has been taught manners from Dr. Dunbar's the books and play trained. This week I began to teach Hand Targeting in earnest as I feel this skill is the basis for other obedience skills..

20th September 2011.

I'd already taught a bit of Paw Targeting which I will get back to late on but at present am teaching Parker to "Touch" Two Fingers, Reward calmness and "Settle" Eventually it wll lead to this.

We went to the vets today and little Parkie was brilliant, stood like a champion on the table apart from jumping up that is LOL. when he first saw her. Happy little fellow!

Shaping the Platform that will lead onto the Skateboard

26th September 2011.
Parker's training is coming along nicely. His hand targeting is becoming strong and he is starting to follow the hand. Hopefully when he is older it will lead to tricks.

He has a crooked sit on one hip so cut 'sit' out a few weeks ago. Am teaching a beg instead, I hold my hand up so he can rests his paws on them to keep balanced.
